  1. Indianapolis Says:

The Funky MBT – It might look a little funky but it does a world of good. Expect the balls of your feet to hurt a little after a break in period of about two days. After that… you are good to go. You might feel like you are walking a bit funny but that too becomes normal. Careful on stairs the first few times until you get used to them. I walk ALOT for a living and these shoes are more comfortable than you might imagine! And in the end… they are supposed to make your legs and butt look good. I’ll keep you posted on that. :)

  2. Sandra, Texas Says:

MBT High Sport – This is a good shoe and it definitely does improve your posture. The height of the shoe does take a little getting use to, and if you use them to exercise, you have to watch your form. If you run in them, you have to adjust your stride in order to keep your form and balance. The right shoe does seem to be a little narrower than the left, and it did cause me to develop a blister on my pinky toe. I continued to use wear them because of the amount of money I had invested in the shoes. I’ve had them for three weeks now and the toe issue has improved. You do get a better workout and if you can over come the toe issue they are quite comfortable. I have noticed that my abs and legs are firmer!!

  3. Joy C, Arkansas Says:

I had no idea what I was missing until I got these shoes! I, myself, have been a faithful Wal-Mart & Payless shopper because I never saw the point in spending money for shoes when they would end up breaking down over time. What I didn’t realize was that there really are shoes out there that form to your feet and are worth spending the extra money. You get what you pay for. And if you want shoes for your little ones because they are still growing, then definitely DO NO PAY $100 for them. But for us adults who are always on the go, and we suffer from mid to low back pain, and trouble with our joints, then you need to take care of them. When you pay 5-10 times more for GOOD shoes, don’t worry. They will last that much longer AND they will fit the way they need to. Plus, I got the wrong size (because they vary according to brand and style). I sent them back (free shipping-UPS picked em up for me). And I got a call saying they received them and I could get a refund or exchange them. And I did just that. In one week’s time I sent back the wrong size and got the right size. I WAS THRILLED! I wear them every day to work out in. And I bought the Thorlos socks. And they make the shoes feel even better. Don’t forget to wash the socks inside out in a garment bag to make them last the longest. P.S. My plantar warts don’t even hurt anymore. And my calluses are MUCH better!

  4. South Florida Says:

Never thought I’d spend this on a shoe! I was skeptical, too! But after wearing these, I can really feel a difference in my legs, and my back feels better. They force me to stand up taller, thus improving my posture, too. They are a little different to walk in at first. They’re not exactly fashionable, but they do have a substantial feel to them and they make me taller, which I like. I am not a power walker or anything like that; I just put them on when I get home in the afternoon and wear them around the house all evening. Just this short time has made a difference.

  5. Florida Says:

Love these! I’m on my second pair of MBTs. I think the Sport High is the best style. I actually bought MBTs when they first hit the market and the High was the only style I found at that time. I had no idea there actually was a lower version until I bought the sandals and unfortunately after I wore them, realized they were not as high. I was glad for Zappos by the way because I went to a local store to buy a new pair and they tried to pawn the shorter ones off on me even though I specifically asked for the high. I think these run small. Also, when you start to wear them, they will give you blisters unless you wear two pairs of socks. Once you’ve adjusted, I think they are fantastic.

  6. Patti Says:

Over-correction causes pain – I am slightly bow-legged, and these shoes are definitely not made for this condition. They seem to over-correct pronation, which ended up placing extreme pressure on my knees. Also, I tried just wearing them casually (instead of as workout shoes) and ended up with a LOT of back and heel pain, even though the shoe feels like it has a lot of cushioning. Like another reviewer, I also experienced tow numbness even though my feet are not wide – the tow box is just too narrow. It’s a shame because a lot of other components of the shoe construction are really good – great mid sole, nice outsole, stitching is good, lacing system is terrific, and (despite what some others said) I thought these were cute considering they are athletic shoes. Maybe they work for some people but they were definitely money down the drain for me.

  7. Santacruz, California Says:

“Moon boot technology” One of my friends says that it looks like I’m wearing moon boots, hence the title. I like to imagine that the squishy, rolling feel of these shoes is a bit lunar, as well! I have been considering ordering the MBT shoes for several years and finally made the financial leap. Wearing them takes some getting used to and they also took a while to “break in” for my narrow heels. They fit totally unlike regular trainers or shoes. You must adjust your gait a bit to get their benefit and to feel stable. I’m normally a long strider and I’ve had to keep my stride smaller and more centered beneath my body. I seem to have less hip and back stiffness after a long walk. I walk my dog everyday and now that he is much older we are going much slower. With the MBT shoes I feel like I’ve actually worked my leg, butt, and hip muscles, even at reduced speed. I’d love to have a pair of the clog-type style for when I have to work on my feet… I think that the slight but constant motion of balancing on the shoe really keeps legs, back, and feet from getting fatigued. I just wish they didn’t cost SO much!

  8. Texas Says:

Great shoe but not the best looking – This company ships super fast, I couldn’t believe I got the shoe the day after I ordered it when I ordered it a ten o’clock at night!!! The product is wonderful and a challenge to walk on (which is the point of the shoe) I recommend this shoe to everyone who wants to tighten loose muscles.

  9. Missouri City Says:

Good for walkers – I do aerobics 3 times per week, so I got the higher heeled version hoping to continue my workout while walking the dog. I do see a very slight difference in muscle tone, but it is certainly not worth the price. If walking is your only form of exercise, I think these shoes would be worth it.

  10. Lcurrie Says:

I love all MBT’s *except* these sport High ones – I have the sandals, I have the regular white running shoes, and I have the casual brown ones, and love them all. I hate the Sport High ones. I find that my ankle wants to turn when wearing these and they don’t feel stable. They rub my heels and are just generally not comfortable. I also don’t find that they provide any extra “workout” on my legs over the regular MBTs.

  11. Anonymous Says:

My second pair – I love these ugly shoes! I bought my first pair and was skeptical but after walking in them I could feel the back of my legs “wake up”. After wearing them for several months my butt and thighs are so much tighter and all my low back pain is gone. Even though the price is steep I bought a second pair because I love them and won’t wear anything else.

  12. Jnholliday Says:

Sport high – I have been wanting to try a pair of MBTs for quite some time. When I finally decided to buy a pair I couldn’t order me a pair and not show them to my husband too. He works on his feet all day and complains of back pain a lot. I thought he would protest because of the price but I guess his pains work bigger than that so he agreed to try them. His were the right size the first time. My sneakers were too small but the sandals were O.K. so I wore them right off, returned my sneakers and ordered a bigger size. By the time the proper size came in my husband had already worn his to work all day – which your not supposed to do right off- the DVD tells you to gradually acclimate to them in frequent small doses. Anyway, his calves were sore for days after that but his back was relieved! He took 3 days off of the sneakers before starting over. I’m still getting acclimated to mine. The do work my calves a lot. For some reason the sandals don’t seem like as much work as the sneakers; I can wear them all day now. I wear one or the other as often as possible but I have to wear a uniform to work and these aren’t authorized for that! I only ran around the block twice this morning in my sneakers and I will go further tomorrow. My muscles have acclimated to the point that although I felt them working harder then they used to for a short run this morning, I don’t have residual soreness now. Oh, and one thing that surprised me, I got compliments on my sandals, and my husband got compliments on his sneakers the first day we wore them. I didn’t even mention that I had new sandals; they were just noticed. That surprised me. I had resolved to wear them for the benefits regardless of how they looked. Well I guess they’re more fashionable than I realized!

  13. NYC Says:

MBT High – I’m been wearing the MBT High now for a few days. I used to be athletic although I am not currently in shape for the past two years. I had no problem walking in these and recommend for those who are more active/athletic to just start with the 2″ High. Very important to order a size up as this is a snug fit. I normally wear a 38 and they were too tight. Ordered a 39 and they are perfect.

  14. Aptos Says:

Feel Like a Kid Again! I’m the kind of person who only buys if I “really” like something, especially if they are 258 buckaroonis to cover my feet. I put these on and felt like I was a kid bouncing around on a trampoline (that is a good thing). I feel more energetic in these shoes. In fact, “they make me feel like dancing, I want to dance the night away.”

  15. Becky Says:

This is my second pair of MBT’s. Last year I bought the hiking boots. I hate to wear anything but my MBT’s. They have helped my sciatic nerve problem out tremendously. You feel like your walking on a trampoline, bouncing actually. They take away the impact of regular walking. I wanted the high soles since my other pair are the regular soles and what a difference. We went to the zoo the other day and my calf muscles really felt the workout!! I wear them as much as possible. I only wish I could wear them with dresses to church :)

  16. Criss, Virginia Says:

LOVE MBTS!!! This is a great shoe, not made to be on your feet for more than a couple of hours straight though. For on you feet wear of two or more hours, I would not recommend the sport high. But I highly recommend you get the sport low or one of their other styles, they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!

  17. Simons Island, Georgia Says:

Great piece of technology! I have been enjoying these shoes; they give my legs a total workout. They are not very fashionable, so I can only wear them in jeans, but the benefit outweighs the looks! I have all my patients interested and they are all getting them! My staff is acquiring some too! Great job!

  18. Lori, F Says:

Funny but Comfortable – This style was true to size, whereas some of the more ‘sporty’ ones felt about one half size too small. These are extremely comfortable, comfort is my PRIORITY. Also purchased for my husband a pair, he also thought they were great! (Can’t believe we spent this much on 2 pairs.) However, I’m sure they will last a long time, they are very sturdy! GIVE THEM A TRY! L in Texas

  19. Shantaram Says:

I love MBTs. This is the 3rd pair that I have purchased in the last 2 years for myself, and I have also purchased a pair for my daughter. I have been wearing the athletic shoe with the additional 1/4 in the heel and have noticed a difference in my gait, even from the regular sport shoe that I purchased 2 years ago. The only concern I had with these was that the first time I wore them I got a blister on my heel, but that has not happened since. I have been using these when I use my rowing machine and have noticed a marked increase in fatigue in my butt and my legs. I definitely feel that I am using these muscles more than with my regular sport MBTs. I also use them on the elliptical. I just love them.

  20. Northwest, Florida Says:

I have them on now. They didn’t take long to get used to. Now, I wear them almost everyday, and they feel pretty normal. I’ve only used them once for jogging. They were definitely more of a workout for running than a normal running shoe. I enjoy walking in them as I feel my posture is much better when I have them on. I haven’t noticed any discomfort, other than the day I jogged in them, and that was mainly due to the heal rubbing…something a different pair of socks may prevent. The fit is good. I ordered my normal size and they fit fine. They do look a bit odd. But overall, they’re a fun pair of shoes.

  21. Linda Says:

The sport shoe that gives you a workout – I love these shoes. I work on my feet all day, and my legs and back don’t tire as fast as with my old athletic shoes. I actually can feel my posture correcting itself, and when I walk it feels like I’m gliding. Great shoes even if they are a bit pricey.

  22. North Carolina Says:

MBT’s Sport High Sneaker – I love these shoes. I wanted to try them for about a year but hadn’t because they’re expensive. I kept getting these Bliss catalogs that advertised them as toning and fighting cellulite. At Bliss they are their #1 seller so I was dying to try them. I have a treadmill and try to walk on it 45 minutes a day so this is when I would wear the shoe. At first I didn’t think it was going to help but after about 14 days I started to notice a difference in the tone and appearance of my back side. If you go to the gym and work out legs it won’t replace that. But if you walk a lot and want to help smooth and tone your in particular your derriere-area these shoes are wonderful. I already want to buy a second pair!

  23. Nancy Says:

I have worn orthotics in my shoes for the last four years to treat and prevent plantar fasciitis. So my expectations for ‘look’ aren’t very high. These just look like trainers to me, so no serious problems there. I was concerned that my feet might begin to hurt though. I have a bony bump on the back of my heel, slightly hammertoed little toes, and ‘flat feet’ that usually need the support of orthotics (expensive!). I’ve been wearing these shoes for about three weeks now, without the orthotics, and everything seems to be fine. I also feel like my legs and gluts are benefiting from the extra activity. I’m looking into buying some sandals now.

  24. West Virginia Says:

Will these really make my legs look better – I am a physician and I bought these shoes because a fellow physician said they made her butt look better and cellulite fade. Well, there’s a lot of work to do there and that takes time… I wore the shoes around the house for a few hours each evening for a week before wearing them for my full work day (12 hours). I find them extremely comfortable and surprisingly do not have any trouble balancing in them. My legs were not terribly sore, but I can tell I am working some of my stability muscles some. Also I have some back and soreness because these shoes force good posture, which I am bad about. I am a runner with IT band syndrome and I do feel a little strain in my IT bands at the end of the day when wearing these shoes. I am not running in them at all. Just walking. One problem – the warning inside the shoe instructions says not to get the MBT sensor (a component of the sole) wet. This is impossible for someone living on the East Coast in winter and spring. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and hope the promises for my bottom work out well.

  25. Yvette Says:

This sneaker definitely works different leg muscles when worn. I felt soreness in my thigh muscles after wearing them once. I feel these sneakers are good for long walks outside, but I wouldn’t wear them all day…used to Birkenstocks and find them too confining for all day use.

  26. New York Says:

MBT Sport High – I’ve tried out the MBT sandals, which I wore all summer and liked a lot because they were really comfortable, but they didn’t do much for me. I decided to try out this version because I was hoping to see some difference in my legs. You do have to be careful not to roll inwards when you walk. Unfortunately, these caused blisters on both my heels and I had to wear lots of band aids to keep it from happening again. Also, my pinky toe felt a bit numb when I wore them all day. I was a little sore (thighs) when I first tried them out, but still have yet to see a difference after a couple of months. I will probably try to wear them during workouts to see if that does anything.

  27. Newark Says:

MBT High- I love all MBT’s… I was a little sore when I first wore my high MBT’s…soon I got used to them and will always wear them. I get a half size bigger, but it may be that my foot is a little wide with a high instep. Try them, you will love them. I got my 28 year old daughter a pair of the lower and that is all she wears…for her birthday I’m getting her a the higher ones…she’ll love them.

  28. West Coast Says:

From a skeptic: these are very good – MBT Sport High fits differently from other MBT’s—and it’s a fit that really works for me. Each make fits a bit differently: this shoe is a true size 42–few other MBT’s come in this in-between size (most are either 41 2/3 to 42 1/3). The Sport High has a roomy toe box (unlike the fire or flame models), and the ankle rise is lower than on all other makes I have tried (I have tried five other distinct styles–thanks Zappos for making this possible!). On other MBT’s, the ankle rise came up too far. On the Sport Low, a hard plastic band that encircles back half of the shoe right at the ankle rise makes it unlikely that it can be broken in in this area. The unisex casual styles were too wide for my feet (regular width), so the toe box was too roomy, which can’t be addressed just by tightening the laces over the rest of the foot. The Sport High shoes are also materially softer, so they give more and can be tightened more strategically; they are dynamite looking, extremely comfortable (I lecture on my feet all day, and walk across campus from class to class); and they have helped my knees and do not trigger the nerve flash I get on the bottom of my feet in most other shoes. Very cushiony. Watch the video: it will help you learn to walk properly in these, which does positively impact posture. They seem worth the investment.

  29. Ali Says:

Extra Workout Boost – These sneakers feel great. My legs felt the extra workout the next day. My only issue would be that since my feet have a slight natural turnout, these sneakers tend to make the feet roll into the inner arch. I have to really work at keeping my step from rolling in. The size, although stated, “Has a snug fit so go larger;” the fit is true to size. Overall, this is a great product for giving your legs, rear, and even abs an extra workout boost.

  30. Lorna Says:

Hoping to Wear – I’m still hoping to be able to wear this shoe regularly so that I can reap its purported benefits…however, the left shoe blistered my heel so badly I haven’t been able to wear it since my first 2-mile walk a couple of weeks ago. I also experienced extreme stiffness and tightness in the toe box, and I do not have a wide foot. My toes actually felt numb inside the shoe, they were squeezed so tightly. It seems to me that for the price, this shoe should be better designed with regard to FIT, and should utilize higher quality (more supple) materials. I’m still hoping to love this shoe, but so far it’s been a painful experience. I will say that the cushy, bouncy “walking on sponges” experience was fun while it lasted!

  31. Kris Says:

Great fit and helped my husband’s feet! These were for my husband, who started to develop heel pain. Both his parents suggested MBT. These shoes have helped alleviate his pain within days. He loves these shoes and also got a pair of the MBT Milano. These are expensive, but well worth the price since they have helped his feet get better and the pain has gone away.

  32. Florida Says:

Don’t Believe the Hype – My husband and I both have these shoes and neither of us like them. I’ve spent considerable time trying to break them in and my feet have yet to feel comfortable in this shoe. I’ve added several different types of inserts to put more arch support in but nothing seems to help and I don’t really have arch support problems with any other shoe. My first time out I developed serious blisters at the heel and decided I needed to experiment a bit more with my walk. There is a trick to your stride/balance technique while walking, which I mastered, but this is just an uncomfortable shoe. I’m kicking myself for ever having purchased this shoe. For the cost of these shoes I could have purchased two lesser priced but better shoes. Sadly, I fell for the hype…and they’re ugly to boot! What was I thinking?

  33. San Diego Says:

This shoe is not attractive but is still great. The first time I wore them I felt my rear and the backs of my thighs being worked…just by walking! The next day my calves were sore; as if I had worked them out! These give me the “workout” I need. I ordered the high version before using the lower version and I’m glad I did. I’ve had no problems walking in them at all.
